The Beginning of a “Jungalow”

Hello Beauties!!!

Our condo that we rent here in Lake Tahoe is an incredible little gem, and entirely furnished!!! Can I get an amen for not having to move any furniture!? Its in a great, quiet part of town but not right in the hustle and bustle of town itself that is always packed full of tourists. The only thing that made me not super excited is that everything in our little home is light beige, dark brown, light brown, dark beige, light brown, brownish beige, and more and more beige and brown.  You get the picture and its not exactly my favorite color palate. So, its definitely been a struggle trying to figure how to decorate and make our home feel like OUR home and have it feel more open and airy, rather than dark and cabin-y.  However…I believe I have solved that problem…PLANTS!!!! And more PLANTS!!

Thanks to my husband, the last few years I have been obsessed with growing things and different plants, I’m not always the best at keeping them alive, but I’m trying!! But for the past few months I have been slowly adding things to our home to give it that “junglelow” feel. I’ve been adding more plant life, we bought a bar cart that we have turned into a plant cart, I’ve bought a few vintage pieces off easy to add to our homes new found theme. With all the plant buy,s I can honestly say that our home feels so much more lively and open. And anyone else struggling with this same dilemma, I guarantee you that if you buy more greenery it will add such a wonderful dimension to your home.

Here are some photos of things I’ve been working on so far!

And here are some of my items that are currently on their way to me!!
